Thai Tea     

Ingredients:
4 teabags strong black tea
1 piece star anise
2 pods cardamom
1/2 cinnamon stick (optional)
1/8 vanilla bean (optional)
ground tamarind, to taste (optional)
1/4 tsp. almond extract (optional)
4 cups boiling water
3/4 cup sugar
half and half, coconut milk, or whole milk

Preparation:
Bring water to boil and add tea and spices. Add sugar and gently stir to completely dissolve sugar. Gently boil tea for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Allow tea to steep for at least 30 minutes and allow it to cool. Fill glass with about 3/4 full of the Thai tea mix. Then top off remainder of glass with half and half.
